Approach (acrylic on canvas 30" by 20") 2010
Original: £490
Prints £88

The Evening Fields formed my view for most of the last few years, looking out to the sea at Tywyn.

On Boxing Day 2009, as I left the beach at Llanrhystud after a wonderful surfing session, I noticed dramatic spreading clouds moving in from the West - harbingers of the snow that fell later. They completely dominated the sky with a strong sense of looming presence.

Skylake 12" x 16" 2009

In November 2008, I walked up Cadair Idris in cold but clear conditions until I reached the cloud-base at about 500m, then it was sudenly Winter, with thick, crisp snow and near-whiteout conditions all over the ridge to the summit.  On the descent I emerged abruptly from the cloud-layer to see the sunlight glinting off a small lake on the south ridge from Craig Cwm Amarch.
